Vidsys Extends Dynamic Collaboration With New Release Of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) Software

Software Makes It Easier Than Ever for Multiple Organizations to Quickly Manage and Resolve Unfolding Situations Together

Vienna, Va. September 8, 2010 ─ VidSys, the leading provider of Physical Security Information Management (PSIM) software that allows organizations to resolve business and security situations in real time, today released the newest version of its PSIM software system.  By extending its unique dynamic situation management capabilities, multiple organizations can team up as situations unfold to share the information and appropriate standard operating procedures necessary to resolve a situation, resulting in improved collaboration and response.

“The most effective PSIM solutions facilitate quick, easy sharing of relevant information between individuals, organizations, agencies or departments as situations unfold in real time,” commented Derek E. Brink, vice president and research fellow for IT Security, Aberdeen Group. “Advanced capabilities that support this dynamic kind of teamwork and collaboration, such as those announced in VidSys’ latest release, are a great example of how technology is evolving to meet the ever-changing requirements for resolving security and safety situations that span multiple organizations.”

The release enhances the existing dynamic action plans, which adapt response plans as situations evolve to allow multiple organizations to share information and collaborate on the actions required to bring a situation to a quick resolution.  Situations can be assigned to different users based on their role, proximity and access privileges.  For example, responsibility for a situation may start in a command center and then move to an incident commander in the field or be shared with another security operations center at a different location.  As a result, the VidSys PSIM software system provides the right amount of information for personnel across organizations to do their job as efficiently and effectively as possible without distractions and ensures that the right people are accessing, monitoring and resolving situations.

“Dynamic events require dynamic action plans that split responsibilities across organizations and agencies,” explained Dave Rosenlund, vice president, product management and marketing, VidSys.  “With this release, we increase the ability for multiple organizations to work together in a dynamic fashion to more effectively respond to and resolve unfolding security and safety situations.”

With simplified installation and setup capabilities, the out-of-the-box software system can be running in as little as 30 minutes.  Its new graphical user interface makes it easier than ever for operators, managers and administrators to perform their jobs efficiently and effectively.  The ability to dynamically change policies, security devices and systems are easier and more intuitive, saving time and simplifying administrative tasks.  All tools and resources for managing a situation are accessible on one screen via a drag and drop interface, eliminating the need for operators to pop up multiple windows or manually locate relevant resources and reducing the time it takes to resolve the situation.
