Effective use of PSIM software starts with assessing and identifying your organizations’ risks and determining the standard policies and operating procedures (SOPs) for resolving situations associated with these risks. VidSys software connects to the various security and operational systems to monitor events, encapsulates the rules for identifying situations as well as the SOPs for use in the operations center. The result is PSIM presents operators with intelligent, actionable information for resolving situations as they unfold, all while monitoring for compliance to ensure best practices are followed for the safest, quickest and most effective resolution.

Based on predefined business rules, the PSIM software analyzes data and alarms from various systems and automatically translates the resulting information into prioritized situations that are presented to Operators. With this information, operators can quickly determine whether or not a situation is “real.” For example, a “door forced open” alarm and a motion detector alarm inside a building, occurring within a minute of one another may be the result of a door held open too long while saying goodbye. Alternatively, these same alarms may indicate an intruder.
Once a situation is confirmed, the PSIM software presents step-by-step resolution instructions, based on standard operating procedures, which update automatically as the situation evolves – new snapshots are presented, instructions are modified, new notifications are sent. From dispatching responders and communicating with field personnel, to locking or unlocking doors, the VidSys PSIM software manages the situation.
As part of the situation resolution, information, such as a picture of the intruder, can be shared with first responders via the VidSys mobile application. Supported on Android and iOS platforms, the application extends collaboration capabilities to field personnel so operators and responders can work together in real time. Additionally, it provides an added layer of protection for the men and women who risk their lives daily, by giving them immediate situational awareness as they approach an incident.
