David Bartolini, Vice President, Engineering
David Bartolini brings over 18 years of senior leadership experience in the networking and software industries. He recently served as Vice President of Engineering at Invento Networks, Lucent Technologies, and Springtide Networks. He also served as software and network management director at Chipcom Corporation and 3Com Corporation via the acquisition of Chipcom.
David holds a Bachelors of Science degree from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology.
John F. Bruno, Chief Financial Officer
John Bruno has over 20 years of experience and expertise directing the strategic operational and financial aspects of high-technology companies. As CFO at VidSys, John has been instrumental in ensuring VidSys’ continued growth and long-term viability. He has orchestrated two rounds of funding and continues to foster financial discipline across the organization to reach Company objectives.
Prior to joining VidSys, John served as Chief Financial Officer for Appfluent Technologies, a leading provider of enterprise business intelligence (BI) and data warehouse management software. Before Appfluent, John held executive positions at Access Spectrum, LLC, a private wireless telecommunications provider, Ericsson IP Infrastructure, and Torrent Networking Technologies, Inc. where he played a key role in building the company, raising capital and negotiating its sale to Ericsson for $450M.
John’s expertise is in helping small companies build strong financial infrastructures and providing the financial guidance necessary for emerging companies to manage rapid growth. Developing business strategies, raising capital, negotiating contracts, managing expenses, and safeguarding corporate assets through the establishment of strong financial systems and controls are critical skills that John has applied in small and emerging businesses.
John is a Certified Public Accountant, and holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from West Virginia University and an MBA from George Mason University.
Don Campbell, Vice President, Product Management
Don Campbell has over 20 years of high tech software experience in various senior technical positions with the majority of his experience based in security solutions for the public and private markets. In Don’s current role as Vice President, Product Management at VidSys, he is responsible for the vision of the VidSys physical security information management or PSIM software and driving that vision to fruition such that it addresses the real world safety and security challenges organizations face on a daily basis.
Prior to joining VidSys, Don was Vice President, Software and Services at VistaScape Security Systems. In 2006, Don moved into a Vice President, Sales position ultimately increasing sales 500% year-over-year and directly contributing to the successful sale of the company to Siemens.
Before VistaScape/Siemens, Don held technical management positions at ConfigureSoft and Banyan Systems. He began his career as a United States Marine Corps officer responsible for the organization’s 35 building, 5000 user network.
Don holds a BS in Electrical Engineering from Duke University.
James I. Chong, Senior Vice President and CTO
James Chong is the Founder and Chief Technology Officer for VidSys and presently serves as a technical visionary and innovator for emerging technology applications with a focus on physical and converged security initiatives. His professional credentials include his role as the primary inventor and architect of a unique interactive multimedia video communications platform currently utilized in some of the largest and most sophisticated command and control centers around the U.S. including Seattle, San Francisco, New York, Chicago and Baltimore.
As a recognized subject matter expert in CCTV and AVIT applications for multiple market segments, James led the formation of VidSys after over 10 years of serving as the Director of the Integrated Communications Division at DTS where he successfully implemented key regional video security and surveillance management programs. His highly-specialized product-driven strategy with focus on specific market segments led to the development of three industry-leading video software applications called VidShield, Intelligent Traffic Management System (ITMS), and VidPhone.
In 2007, James was named to IDG’s InfoWorld CTO 25. He is a frequent speaker on the topics of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Fusion Centers, video security, and PSIM.
James holds a Bachelor of Science in Aerospace Engineering and Ocean Engineering as well as Minors in Mathematics and Engineering Science and Mechanics from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University (Virginia Tech).
Eric Driscoll, Vice President, Professional Services
Eric brings extensive experience in building professional services organizations for enterprise software companies to the VidSys leadership team, where he is responsible for overseeing the operation and strategic direction of the services department.
Prior to joining VidSys, he served as a managing partner at Claraview, a professional services firm focused on business intelligence solutions for commercial and U.S. government organizations that was acquired by Teradata Corporation in 2008. Prior to Claraview, he served as worldwide vice president of services for software companies Crystal Decisions, Inc. and MicroStrategy, Inc. With almost 25 years of information technology experience, Eric began his consulting career at Arthur Andersen & Co. and Sybase Professional Services.
Eric holds a B.S.E.E. in Electrical and Computer Engineering from Johns Hopkins University.
Kelly Fiedler, Vice President, Marketing
Kelly Fiedler brings more than 16 years of technology marketing and management experience to her role at VidSys, where she is responsible for creating global product awareness and generating product demand. Prior to joining VidSys, Kelly spent eight years at Unica Corporation, a leading global provider of enterprise and on demand software for marketing organizations. As senior director, Field Marketing and Operations at Unica, she was responsible for demand generation across three business units and the global partner program. Kelly was instrumental in growing Unica’s demand and revenue to more than $100M and was a member of the team during the successful IPO in 2005.
Prior to Unica, Kelly held various global marketing positions at Eastman Kodak, and she started her career in customer-driven design and marketing at American Institutes for Research. Kelly has spoken at marketing and technology industry events, including the Direct Marketing Association (DMA) and National Center for Database Marketing (NCDM). She holds an MBA in Marketing from the Boston College Carroll School of Management, and a B.S. in Mechanical Engineering from Tufts University.
Michael P. Jackson, Chairman and CEO
Michael Jackson is an entrepreneur and business leader who is deeply experienced in security, transportation, and technology with service in both the public and private sectors as well as the Federal government. In 2008 he founded Firebreak Partners, LLC to finance and deploy high-value security technology networks to protect airports, seaports and other critical infrastructure. He was Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Homeland Security (2005-2007), the Department’s chief operating officer. Michael also served as Deputy Secretary of the U.S. Department of Transportation (2001-2003), where he focused particularly on the Department’s response to the 9/11 terrorist attacks, including creation of the new Transportation Security Administration and recovery efforts for the nation’s aviation industry. He served as a member of the Board of Directors for Amtrak and was chairman of its Audit Committee. Under the Administration of President George H. W. Bush, he served at the White House as Special Assistant to the President for Cabinet Liaison, and later as Chief of Staff for the Secretary of Transportation. In the private sector, Michael was a Senior VP of AECOM, a global family of design and engineering firms, and COO of its government services group. He was COO of Lockheed Martin IMS’s Transportation Systems and Services group and, earlier, Senior VP at the American Trucking Associations. A Houston native, Michael has a Ph.D. (Government) with distinction from Georgetown University.
